NY CARMEL — Carmel Town Board unanimously approves wave runner for Lake Mahopac patrol. Police Chief Anthony Hoffmann requested the 2026 Yamaha wave runner at $15,500 to expand waterborne emergency response and address jet ski safety; Councilman Robert Kearns called it a two-year priority. The state will reimburse 50 percent by year-end.
The Board also unanimously authorized Budget Modifications Schedule 2026/02 with $1 million allocated for highway resurfacing and $250,000 for machinery purchases; approved a consulting services agreement with Michael Carnazza for the Building Department at up to $35,000 annually; designated Supervisor Michael Cazzari as Fair Housing Officer; appointed Byron Nick Voutsinas to the Planning Board; and amended the Procurement Policy.
