Board authorizes delinquent water debt collection, tax hearing

NY CARMEL — Carmel Town Board votes unanimously to authorize delinquent water debt collection. The board empowered attorney Joseph A. Charbonneau of Brewster to pursue collection cases in town and county court for unpaid water meter replacement charges at $225 per hour.
The board also scheduled a February 18 public hearing on proposed amendments to the town's tax code and approved a $17,221 purchase of a 2015 Chevrolet 1500 pickup for the Highway Department. Additionally, the board appointed Town Clerk Alice Daly as Marriage Officer to help residents address Department of Motor Vehicles issues related to international marriages.
