Board grants variances for 24-unit housing project on vacant Route 6 lot

NY CARMEL — Carmel approves 24-unit housing project on long-vacant Route 6 property. The Zoning Board of Appeals unanimously granted a Use Variance to 112 Crossroads Corp. to construct 14 one-bedroom and 10 two-bedroom units at 1828 Route 6, with two units reserved for veterans and first responders, on a 1.4-acre parcel listed continuously since 2004. The board also unanimously approved variances to expand the Savor Restaurant at 18 Clark Place to 90 seats and to permit six chickens on residential property at 129 Gleneida Ridge Road.
