Carmel board extends permit for Tompkins Recycling transfer station

NY CARMEL — Carmel Environmental Conservation Board unanimously extends wetland permit for Tompkins Recycling transfer station. Vice-Chairwoman Emily Lavelle moved to extend Permit #1010 for 70 Old Route 6 for one year through January 23, 2027, requiring an updated wetland flag map by February 18, 2026 and Wetland Inspector site visits for erosion control. The project, originally approved in 2010 and renewed seven times under previous ownership, is underway with earthwork and retaining walls complete.
In a second unanimous approval, Board Member Stephen Perrotta moved to grant Permit #1017 to 9 Clara Lane LLC (Treisman) for wood deck replacement in Mahopac, requiring town wetland inspection during construction.
