Planning Board OKs two waivers, extends commercial site plan approval

Planning Board · Meeting of June 11, 2026

NY CARMEL — The Carmel Planning Board granted two site waivers and extended a commercial site approval, while a hearing on a PFAS remediation project remained open pending cleanup. The board approved a rooftop deck waiver for VFW Post 5491 for combat-zone veterans with conditions on music and lighting, and granted a waiver for a 24-by-40-foot maintenance shed at Rock Hill Girl Scout Camp. The board re-approved MK Realty's final site plan for Route 6 for one year, with Town Planner Patrick Cleary confirming compliance with TC zoning.

At a Veolia North America hearing on PFAS work on Coventry Circle, residents raised concerns about material storage and generator placement. Chairman Craig Paeprer conditioned bond release on cleanup.
