NY CARMEL — Board completes 2026 organizational meeting with slate of key appointments. Supervisor Michael Cazzari designated Councilman Frank Lombardi as Deputy Supervisor (unanimous approval); the board unanimously appointed Mary Ann Maxwell as Town Comptroller, Kevin J. Kernan as Chief of Staff and Confidential Assistant to Town Board, and Gregory Folchetti, Esq. as Town Attorney for 2026-2027.
Probationary appointments approved for Edward Spadaro, Building Inspector, and Laura Petersen, Senior Office Assistant, effective January 5. Voting meetings established for first and third Wednesdays at 7 p.m. monthly, modified for summer. In the sole recorded split vote, Councilman Kearns' motion to table approval of J.
Robert Folchetti & Associates engineering services failed 3-2, and the proposal then passed 4-1.
